I think it was Ram Dass (or maybe it was his guru, Neem Karoli Baba) who said something like (and I’m paraphrasing):

‘Imagine greeting people you've never met with the knowledge that your souls have known each other and loved each since the dawn of time’.

This is how I want to engage with you, writing with this in mind; that we can access each other’s lives intimately, by virtue of the fact that we all are blessed and connected human beings, living and shopping, breathing together, eating together, giving birth to children, to new ideas, to companies, feeding our babies, feeding our souls, enriching our own lives and the lives of those around us.

Together I want us to create, explore new thoughts, drink virtual cups of tea; I want to share in your experiences, as you share in mine.

Let’s gently and lovingly and occasionally forcefully break down the societal norms which have kept us all at arms length – because if there’s one thing Social Media has shown us, it’s that we yearn for more of one another. We crave more of one another. Because in seeing you – in all of your raw human truth, I see myself. And then, incrementally or exponentially, I expand and learn and gain awareness and my old glass ceiling of understanding is lifted.

This is why I love social media, and why I’m excited to be on board with The Little Alchemist.

I’d love this blog to go beyond ‘what’s new’ here and ‘check this out’ there, but to create a space for accepting the beauty of the truth in others, and for revealing the beauty of our own. And if we can be real and truthful and vulnerable in the faceless domain of the World Wide Web, perhaps that can ease us into the living the same way IRL.

It will take some time, but here at The Little Alchemist, we are concerned with the expansion and spread of love – for ourselves and for others. Be a part of it if you dare, contribute, place a comment in the box below – show us your truth and let’s get the ball rolling.

I’ll start with something real and truthful and vulnerable about me: I’m really scared about starting this blog!

With love and in truth,

Thanks Casey and Marcie, for your encouragement, and thank you Sarah – from the bottom of my heart – for your openness in being the first to speak up with something clearly very vulnerable. I may not be able to help with what happens now, I’m not qualified to counsel or even give advice, but one thing I do know, is each moment is a moment, and every breath is just one breath. Whatever your future holds can not be your concern right now – only this one moment. And in this one moment, because of your willingness to be vulnerable, I hear you, and my heart reaches out to yours. Wishing you well on your journey x
